Prior to using the services of a physician assistant, a physician must be approved as a supervising physician by the Oregon Medical Board. This one-time application is submitted online and includes a 20-question, open-book exam on supervising physician requirements and responsibilities. The application fee is $100. The Board makes a determination on the application within seven days unless the physician is under a Board investigation. Supervising physician approval does not need to be renewed. (See OAR 847-050-0027 and OAR 847-050-0037).
